The construction is designed for stability and durability, with a focus on meeting the basic needs of surfers. PVC fins are less rigid than those made of carbon or fiberglass, but still offer adequate flexibility and responsiveness necessary for learning and practicing basic surfing techniques. The FCS I fin system, for which these fins are designed, allows the fins to be easily mounted and removed from the surfboard without the need for special tools.
